ABOUT NORTH PORT
North Port is a city in southern Sarasota County, Florida, located between Tampa and Fort Myers. It is part of the North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota Metropolitan Statistical Area. North Port is a rapidly growing municipality encompassing very large-scale residential subdivisions along with an extensive network of streets and a population growth since 2000 of over 400%.
North Port neighbors Sarasota County's diverse cultural arts scene and renowned beaches. Within the city, residents and tourists can enjoy a myriad of outdoor recreational activities offered by the area's natural surroundings including the Myakkahatchee Creek and Myakka Forest and River. The municipality annexed the area known as Warm Mineral Springs, the site of well-known artesian springs that flow in the area, along with its own significant residential subdivision. The city is home to the North Port Art Center and North Port Performing Arts Center which offer a wide range of arts and entertainment for the community. Other nearby points of interest include Sarasota Jungle Gardens, Siesta Key, Ringling Museum of Art and Charlotte Sports Park, home of the Atlanta Braves spring training beginning in 2019.
